Salāmun ʿAlaykum! May Allah bless you and your families. We pray for your safety and that we are all able to benefit from the upcoming nights of Qadr and the last few days of Shahr Ramaḍān.

Next Week!

Due to the Nights of Qadr, we have no school on Monday May 3 and Wednesday May 5.

We will have asynchronous days on Tuesday May 4, Thursday May 6, and Friday May 7. This means that all live classes, including spiritual development classes, are cancelled for these days.

There will be asynchronous (independent) work that will be due at the end of the week. Please check our HOMEROOM for your assignments. All the asynchronous assignments for this week will be posted before Monday, inshaAllah.

**Please note: asynchronous days are NOT holidays. They are school days, and there is independent work that students must complete during this week.

**The expectation is that students will complete their independent work during this week and submit it by the end of the day on Sunday, inshaAllah.

How can I prepare for the Student-Led Conferences?

The purpose of student-led conferences is to provide a holistic approach to conferences. During our discussion, we will be reinforcing the growth mindset, as we collaborate to create goals for the students to RISE to success, inshāʾAllāh!

Teachers will be presenting ePortfolios! The ePortfolio is a place where students collect, and reflect on, the products of their learning. In addition to reflection, this collection should reflect a variety of student products and performances as well as documentation showing student growth.

Leading up to the conference, please reflect on these questions:

  • Is there anything specific that you would like to see your child improve this quarter?
  • What can the teacher do to help support your child and your family with that?

Tips:

  • Please log on Zoom five minutes early to avoid any technical delays
  • Learning Coach & Student must be present during conferences
  • Be prepared to have your camera on
  • Find a quiet spot in the home for the duration of the conference

Students! Here are some questions to think about before your conference:

  • What was successful for you this quarter?
  • What was challenging for you this quarter?
  • What was your favorite lesson or project this past quarter? Why was it your favorite?
  • What is something you would have done differently or changed this past quarter?
  • Share something that you would like to tell your learning coach and teacher about that could help you improve this year.

Have a great weekend InshAllah!
