Admin Updates

Salāmunʿalaykum,

May Allah(swt) bless you and your families. 

Alḥamdulillāh, we are coming through the end of the first year together. There are some important dates to note for your calendar. 

  • Last week of live classes is the week of June 7th
  • School wide assessments is the week of June 7th
  • School Wide Award ceremony is on Monday, June 14th at 3pm (PST)
  • Graduation Ceremony for Kindergarten and 8th Grade is on Tuesday, June 15th
    • Kindergarten: 3-4pm (PST)
    • 8th Grade: 4:30-5:40pm (PST)

Re-enrollment is Open 2021-22

We are now accepting applications for the 2021-2022 school year! Be ready to pay the enrollment fee and submit prior year report cards when you apply! Families will be directed to schedule a family meeting and new student assessment after applying as well.

For Shahr Ramadan use the code: RAMADAN2021 to receive 40% off the enrollment fee. This promotion has been extended till the end of May.

RISE Up Summer Program

We are very excited to announce the RISE Up Summer Program 2021. Registration is open now only to all the RISE Online families until Friday, May 28th. After Friday, Al-Kisa will announce it to the larger community.

There are limited spots available. And classes are contingent on enrollment.

1st & 2nd Grade

Salāmun ʿAlaykum! May Allah bless you and your families. June is fast approaching and the year is almost coming to an end! We are working on class portrait and would love some pictures of our students! Please submit using this form https://form.jotform.com/211405080572042

Finally, please make sure students are submitting their work on time! Last day I will be accepting work is on Friday June 11th. Students will receive a zero for any work not submitted. Thank you for your continued support.

RISER Reward Thursday 6/10

Quarter 4 is coming to an end and RISE Online has planned RISER Rewards Thursday for students on Thursday, June 10th at 12:00-1:00pm (PST).

What is RISER Rewards Thursday?
To encourage and motivate students to excel in their classes.

Criteria for RISER Rewards Thursday
1. No missing assignments
2. 70% or above for grades

Students with missing assignments and less than 70% grade will attend a study hall to complete work for classes. 

1st Grade

Here is a look at what was covered this week! 

Math 
We continued to review fractions and described equal parts, half of, third of, fourth of parts.

ELA 
Recognize, identify, read, and
spell words ending with er and est! Reading groups read assigned books asked and answered questions about
key details in a text. 

Islamic Studies
Focus lesson was on Hadhrat Ali Al-Saghir (as) learning about her life and the influence she had on the Muslim Ummah. 

Science 
This week students learned what plants need to grown and the importance of leaf size and shape. Students should be concluding their germination experiment and submitting their journal entries. 

Writing
Students finalized their small moment and submitted their final drafts!

2nd Grade

Here is a look at what was covered this week! 

Math 
Began exploring multiplication focusing on addition and multiplication relations. We also did some Kahoot assessment on multiplication using arrays.

ELA 

Reading groups also read assigned books and we had a fun Kahoot assessment! As a group we started a novel study using the book “Chocolate touch.” Students can access the book through https://www.getepic.com/

Islamic Studies
Focus lesson was Imam Hassan Alaskari (as) learning about his life and meaning behind his name!

Science
