99 Names of Allah – Schoolwide Project!
Introducing: The 99 Names of Allah project! Each student will be assigned a name of Allah swt that they will record themselves reading, along with a visual representation of the name.
A compilation video of all the recordings will be made and displayed on the RISE Online YouTube page inshAllah!
Note that since it will be displayed publicly, a student does not need to show their face on camera if they do not wish.
This will count as a grade for the student’s Islamic Studies class, so participation is mandatory!
Grade 1 & Grade 2 Updates
Grade 1 & 2 Science
Due to MLK day on Monday, the Grade 1s will not have science with me. For this reason, they will join the Grade 2 Science Class on Thursday, January 22nd.
Both Grades are on the same unit and studying similar content, so there will be no confusion InshAllah.
Grade 1s: I will invite all of you to the Grade 2 Science Class through Google Calendar.
Grade 2 Math
We are currently reviewing double digit addition and subtraction strategies in class, in preparation for the next unit test.
The next unit has been moved to Thursday, February 29, in class, InshAllah!
Story Elements
Both Grade 1 and 2 have been working on story elements and are in the process of completing their own magical stories.
This process involved: creating a magical character with character traits, creating a setting, creating a obstacle and finally a solution.
Please check with your child to see which step they are currently on and make sure all completed steps are submitted to me in Google classroom.
The Instructions and rubric for ALL STEPS can be found in Google Classroom: Grade 1 ELA, Grade 2 Writing; under classwork – Story Development.
The Grade 1s will be working a puppet show to tell their completed stories, while the Grade 2s will be creating a comic books on Pixton or Google Slides!
Further instructions will be given in class once we are completely done with our stories! 🙂 Plenty of direction and class time will be given to complete these projects, InshAllah! As always, your support as the learning coach is much needed in this project!
