Save the Date – RISE Online Fundraiser on March 13th!

Our RISE Online fundraiser will take place on March 13th starting at 2 PM PST and will stream live on YouTube at youtube.com/riseonlineschool. 

Prizes are available for a free drawing and those drawings will take place based on how far we reach in our donation goal, so be sure to spread the word! InshAllah all contributions will be going to RISE Online to fund future programs! We announce those winners live during the event. It will also feature performances from RISE Online Students, speeches from Syed Asad Jafri & Moulana Abidi, and a Kahoot competition for prizes!

Learning Coach Empowerment Hour on March 5th at 2 pm PST

Spelling Bee Next Friday March 5th for Grades K-4

RISE Online will be having a spelling bee with RISE Academy on Friday March 5th! InshAllah we will have classroom preliminaries next week and finalists will participate on Friday.

Grade 1 & Grade 2 Updates

New Teacher!

I am honored to be the new homeroom teacher for Grade 1 and Grade 2 at RISE Online.

Ms. Khan will be greatly missed. However, InshAllah, with your patience and support, we can make the transition a seamless and successful one!

Canvas Changes!

Thank you for your continued patience as we transition to Canvas.

To make this process easier, there will be some changes to how assignments and lessons are completed.

Please note that lessons will no longer show up on the calendar or the To-do List. This was becasue previously it was difficult to mark lessons as complete when it was posted as an assignment.

From now on, please go to the latest module for the week and complete the lessons and assignments in a sequential order. Module assignments will be blocked until the lessons are viewed.

Assignments and quiz deadlines will still appear on both the calendar and to-do list.

Monday Show and Tell

On my first day with the children, I would love to have a show and tell with all the children.

Please bring something that you’d love to show to the class! 😀

You will be able to access it from this link using the same user name and password as before!

Father’s Day Flipgrid!

In honor of the wilādah of Imām ʿAlī (ʿa) Amīr al-Muʾminīn and Father’s Day, please complete a Father’s Day flipgrid, giving an award for your father (or other male figure in your life, such as grandfather, uncle, etc.). Videos will be shared at next Thursday’s assembly celebration inshāʾAllāh!

Thank you for your patience, support, and flexibility while RISE Online transitions to Canvas.

If you still have any questions regarding Canvas or making submissions, please reach out to me!

Helpful Suggestion: Don’t forget to register for a parent observer account on Canvas, which will give you access to the Canvas Parent App, where you will have easy access to upcoming assignments, due dates, and keep a track of grades.

How do I sign register for a parent observer account?

The instructions can be found in the RISE Online General Canvas Classroom, along with other helpful information and video tutorials for learning coaches regarding Canvas!

Mother’s Day Saturday Storytime TOMORROW AT 11 AM PST

Planting Day!

On Thursday, February 11, we will be planting seeds to symbolize the beginning of the Season of Worship, inshaAllah. For Assembly on Thursday, please prepare the following supplies:

• seed (we suggest any fast-growing plants, like beans or herbs)
• small pot
• potting soil

Quarter 2 has come to an end, Alhamdulillah!

If you still require some time to complete assignment, please submit everything on Accelerate or Google Classroom by Monday, February 8th.

100th Day of School!

This Thursday, February 11th will be the 100th day of school!

Students are encouraged to dress up as if they are a 100 years old!! 😀

We will be having special activities planned for that day, InshAllah
